In this case, the decision is to go on a trip and the next best alternative is undefined (remember, the summer job is a moot point because "you won’t be able to take it").
So the correct answer is "unknown".
Moreover, the opportunity cost could be considered the next best alternate way to spend the money (3000+200+1400) and the time.

Divetracks is a non-profit organization which organizes diving trips to the Philippines where people can dive and/or go island hopping and have fun.The atmosphere is relaxed as if it were a group of friends. Tracks are very adventurous, they go to remote places with no tourists. It is run by Eric van den Arend, a Dutch guy who sold his software company to enjoy life and do the things he likes. The money he gets from Divetracks goes directly to charity in the Philipines, such as a childen village on one of the islands near Cebu.

Okay so im going a trip to adventure quest with my class its an end of year trip its on the the 13th of july monday 2009 and to day’s 5th july sunday 2009 loll. I’m going with my year at school for two days activities. I’ve never been anywhere like this before so I’ve no idea what to bring!

I went there in TY! Twas a good week. =] Don’t get lost in the woods though! *ahem*
You do three activities every day if I remember correctly, one in the morning, one after lunch and a less strenuous one in the evening. You’ll need a swimsuit if you’re doing kayaking, as many pairs of socks as you can pack, whatever towels you need for showering (I don’t think they give you any), two pairs of jeans or tracksuit bottoms for every day you’re there (you get muddy), decent shoes that have ankle support (not essential, but there’s some uphill hiking involved to get to some of the activities. It’s much easier than doing it in converse) and PJs. Some schools dress up on the last night, so ask around to see if you should bring something nice.

I’m looking for a great challenge. I kayak, hike, bike, whatever, so I could do a multi-sport trip to. I’m thinking about going solo, just for the challenge.
My wife and I, along with a friend will be climbing the east face of Mt Whitney this summer. Should be quite an adventure!
If you can’t get a permit, or want to start smaller, there are many beautiful peaks in the Sierra Nevada Mt’s that range from very accessible and easy to summit, to multi-day/week back country treks to very difficult accents. Whatever floats your boat.
As beautiful as any mountain range in the world.
