I’m looking for outdoor adventure programs that I can take my seven year old son to, and actively participate in as well. Hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, ropes courses, etc. Preferably programs that have some social component to them as well, such as communication skills, boundary building, respect, and growing in fun, joyful, family partnership. Any ideas??
Contact Ricardo or Trista and tell them Judi Murphy suggested you contact them. Their Hawk Circle program – link below, includes a summer camp, college credit programs – I’m not sure if they have what you are looking for – but I trust them implicitly. If they cannot accommodate you – they are likely to know who has what you need.

I would like to picnic, take some nature walks and relax in a beautiful tree surrounded setting. I remember going somewhere in Sunol that would be perfect, but I was young and dont remember exactly where it was, I beleive it was called Little Yosemite, ever heard of it?
Good memory – there is a park called Little Yosemite in Sunol.
Here’s an article about it with some details as well: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/12/23/SPGAPAFUCS1.DTL
I’d also highly recommend visiting Big Sur, it’s beautiful there and perfect for walking, relaxing and picnicing too.
Bay Area Backroads is a fantastic source for finding neat Bay Area things to do. Theye have several good books and a website:

I am not skilled enough to do the hard mountain climbs, but am up for camping, hiking, whitewater rafting, and lots more! I’d also like a guided service rather than planning my own. Any suggestions? I have about 3-4 days to spend.
It does rain here quite a lot in February, so depending on the weather, these types of guided activities might be somewhat more scarce that time of year.
Here is a website with lots of tour information:

My recommendation would be to go to Ocean Shores in Gray’s Harbor County. You can drive on the beach there, and there’s lots of stuff to do on the peninsula.
Have a good time!
